For all basic and advanced inspection; measuring, test equipment and corrective action requests are issued for product and system deficiencies. The purpose of the corrective action requests are to identify and remedy the deficiency and to prevent future quality system or product deficiencies.

Established control plans are in place for automotive part production according to the advance product quality plan and control plan reference manual; in addition, FMEAs are established for each part IAW the potential failure mode and analysis FMEA reference manual. Moldex also complies with early production containment plan, reproduction meetings, feasibility studies, PPAP, etc.

Techniques used aid in controlling and improving process and final production. Each process is controlled with detailed work instructions which have all controls and improvements documented.

Calibration

Calibration intervals are based on the equipment usage and past calibration history. Reference standards for required accuracies are traceable to national standards and are utilized to calibrate all inspection, measuring and test equipment.

Quality Assurance

The quality manager and inspectors cover all 3 production shifts and have the authority to check a product for non-conformance and hold a shipment if necessary. All quality programs are in place and are QS9000 / ISO9002 driven.

A quality manual is available and is reviewed every 6 months. Internal audits are performed semi-annually to IAW QS9000 standards.
